Performance Appraisal as Tool for Achieving Efficiency in Steel Industry Abstract The performance management system (PMS) was created with the goal of advancing public service improvement and ensuring service quality sustainability. The performance agreement (PA) has been important in improving and assessing performance, promoting public sector growth, and connecting performance to monetary incentive schemes. However, the research uncovers a flaw in the PA's implementation in terms of its ties to incentive distribution to people. The purpose of this research was to see how performance appraisal (PA) affects staff productivity and motivation in the Indian steel industry. To choose 150 workers, simple random selection was employed. Questionnaires and interview schedules were employed as study tools for data gathering.
