Study of Lean Manufacturing-Concept, Application, Limitations Abstract In businesses, the concept guiding mass production is still a dominating ideology. However, in most developed countries, the lean idea has long outlasted mass manufacturing. Based on field experiences abroad where lean methods have been implemented, this study reveals the limitations and potential advantages of applying them in the transformation of industries. . The review utilises a technique of searching queries or keywords to collect relevant material on the topic from a variety of journals, conference papers, professional articles, and student theses published between 1988 and 2018. However, while assessing the feasibility of adopting lean principles, the study discovered a number of tried-and-true lean methods that may be used in both process and non-process sectors.
