Assessing the Strategies of Production Planning and Inventory Control Abstract This research is being carried out in order to create novel production planning and control methods for manufacturing industries, with the goal of improving production performance and competitiveness in the basic metal sectors. Though the study was performed using primary data (field observation and questioning) and secondary data (literature analysis on research papers, books, and electronic-sources). The questioner and observation data were collected from two different Ethiopian basic metal companies. Since the data was gathered, descriptive and empirical analyses were used.
