Staff Training and Development as a Tool for High Employee Performance
Introduction
Training is defined as any teaching or learning activity that is carried out with the main goal of assisting members of an organisation in acquiring and applying the information, ability, skill, and attitude required by the organisation.
Employee training and development are critical, particularly in the banking industry, as they constitute the umbilical cord of competence and increased efficiency, which remain the hallmarks of every company. Training, in broad terms, is the act of improving an employee's knowledge and ability in doing a certain profession.
Development is not as precise as that; it has a broader range of applications. It is used in this context to refer to the process of assisting management in improving managerial administrative skills and decision making process, qualities, competencies, and achieving motivational and consequently productivity of employer, by wing training to motivate employees, it will undoubtedly result in increase in productivity. Training is often associated with non-management employees, while development is associated with management personnel.
The primary aim of this study is to investigate how staff training and development may be used to improve employee performance and help organisations accomplish their goals and objectives more effectively.
The significance and need of staff training and development will be assessed, as will employee perceptions of training.
Limitations of the Study
The researcher faced various limitations throughout the course of this study, including:
- Time constraints since the research activity is combined with other academic pursuits.
- The second issue is a lack of information, such as a low response rate from respondents for one reason or another (e.g., obtaining the historical context proved difficult).
- Finally, there is a cost restriction caused by the requirement for constant sorting of information content.
