Abstract

Given the recent rise in employee psycho-social problems, the banking industry is especially deserving of a detailed and in-depth examination. This may be linked to the sector's significant organisational changes, particularly the restructuring procedures brought on by the global economic crisis. Our goal is to determine the scope of the phenomena and how it connects to bank organisation procedures in particular. With this in mind, we conducted a study of the literature and identified the most important research on work-related stress in banking, in order to get a better understanding of the issue as it pertains to this group of employees.

Conclusion

The result was that subjective stresses did add to job-related stress, while a lack of knowledge and responsibility manifested itself in greater emotions of meaninglessness at work and uncertainty about the future. Work meaninglessness and job discontent were linked; psychological complaints were linked to cognitive anxiety and health complaints; and a person's perceived psychological well-being was linked to work-related stress.
