Abstract
Job satisfaction is represented in an individual's emotional response to work-related variables. This research investigates the connection between personality characteristics, work features, and job satisfaction of instructors in vocational schools in the Indonesian province of North Sumatera. The proportionate random sampling method was used to generate the sample size for this research, resulting in a total of 166 instructors who were found to have the anticipated qualification in Mechanical Engineering topic.
A questionnaire was designed as the primary instrument of this research for data collection and was given to all samples. All of the elements tested in the instruments were designed to be related to the study goals, research questions, and literature review references. The research questionnaires are made up of a series of Likert-scaled questions based on the four factors examined in this study person characteristics, work characteristics, and job satisfaction. The route analysis technique was utilized in this research to evaluate the hypotheses.
Introduction
Job satisfaction has been identified as a critical factor in determining organisational success. It represents an individual's emotions about work, which has an impact on both the individual's and the organization's performance. As a result, the significance of job satisfaction is to encourage organisational members to participate in behaviours that enable them to achieve successful performance and productivity with their work. Existing literature suggests that individual job satisfaction is influenced by individual characteristics, job characteristics, and career development (see, for example).
Conclusion
The basic premise of the relationship between individual characteristics, job characteristics, and career development with job satisfaction is derived from trait and factor theory, which emphasizes that each individual is unique. In summary, the overall results are consistent with research that show that individual demographic, work characteristics, and career development factors are important predictors of employee job satisfaction.
