Transactional Leadership and Employee Job Satisfaction
Abstract
The primary goal of this research is to show the connection between transactional and transformational leadership behaviours - a contemporary style of leadership in which workers have ideal views of their managers in food and beverage businesses - and job happiness. To that end, a thorough search of the literature was conducted initially, followed by a deliberate sample technique, and data were gathered through questionnaires from a total of 491 workers working for first-class food and beverage businesses with tourist operation licences in Istanbul.
The collected data was analysed using factor analysis, percentage and frequency analysis, as well as correlation and regression analysis.
Introduction
It is critical to determine which leadership actions would improve employee work satisfaction. Modern leadership theories have begun to be utilized, particularly since the efficacy of behavioral and situational leadership theories has waned over time. Modern leadership ideas include transactional and transformational leadership philosophies. The primary goal of this research was to determine the impact of different styles of leadership on work satisfaction.
As a result, the concepts of transactional leadership, transformational leadership, and work satisfaction were all addressed. Then, a search was conducted for food and beverage businesses that operate in the service sector.
Conclusion
As a result of the research, it was discovered that employees' perception of their manager's transformational leadership was high, their perception of transactional leadership was perception of transformational leadership and job satisfaction, but no relationship was discovered between the leadership perceptions of employees in the food and beverage industry.
Managers can gather employees around a common mission and vision while carrying out their business activities, trust and power in the employees, approach the solution of problems encountered in the enterprise from an intellectual standpoint, and support the personal development of the employees.
