Abstract
Indian economy relies heavily on the automobile industry. Since this sector is linked to other sectors, it helps to boost the industrial growth of the country. Growth in the industry has doubled in the last decade. As a result of the intense competition, this sector requires additional consolidation and restructuring efforts. The present paper assesses customer satisfaction in Madurai with respect to a select group of automobile industries. A convenient sampling method was used to gather data from 288 respondents. However, customer satisfaction predictions will always be influenced by after-sales service and trends.
Introduction
Indian automakers ranked fourth in the world in 2018 and were the seventh-largest producers of commercial vehicles. To reach Rs 16.16-18.18 trillion (US$ 251.4-282.8 billion) by 2026, the Indian automobile industry (including parts manufacturing) is expected to reach. A staggering 81 percent of all residential automobile transactions in FY19 were for motorcycles. With 26.27 million vehicles sold in FY19, domestic automobile sales grew at a 6.71 percent CAGR between 2013 and 2018. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Indian automobile industry totaled $20.85 billion between April 2000 and December 2018. Between FY13 and FY19, domestic automobile production increased by 6.96 percent, with 30.92 million vehicles produced in FY19.
Conclusion
Rural residents make up the majority of the respondents to this study, according to the findings. Respondents between the ages of 30 and 40 and 41 to 50 are the two most important age groups. Men are the most important gender among the respondents, according to the survey. According to the respondents, under graduation and postgraduate are the two most important levels of education.
